Retail. Innovative. Strong. This is what the Handelsinformationssysteme (HIS) conference is all about. HIS brings together decision-makers from SMEs, trade associations and franchises. This year it was held for the 23rd time at the Leonardo Campus of the University of Münster. In the spotlight: digital development in retail so as to better recognize challenges, opportunities and future trends, and to continuously develop strategies and innovative concepts.
The two-day event is organized by the European Research Center for Information Systems (ERCIS) together with ServiCon Service & Consult, a sister company of the Mittelstandsverbund ZGV, and the EHI Retail Institute. In addition to 20 specialist lectures by German and international companies, visitors also get an overview of innovative solutions and products at the exhibition.
This year, minubo not only exhibited, but CEO Lennard Stoever also presented the Business Intelligence solution in his 30-minute presentation. With the title "Data-driven collaboration: How to create value from data online and offline", he presented the successfully implemented project with INTERSPORT. Because, in addition to the ANWR Group, the German group with the highest sales, INTERSPORT is also part of the minubo customer portfolio. Together with the sports retailer, data analysis was enhanced and thus digitization was advanced, not only online but also, at the point of sale.
The challenge was to tackle digitization together with the individual, independent retailers. “Our data is important capital for us, and we want to make it more usable in our network. minubo enables us to do just that: Both at the INTERSPORT headquarters and at our retailers, we are establishing better, data-driven processes for our employees through simple data access" says Hannes Rumer, CEO of INTERSPORT Deutschland eG.
With the introduction of a cooperative retailer platform, the company is setting new standards for digitally driven sports retail. The jointly developed Store Monitor, which provides insights from data for branch employees via a mobile app, also supports the successful implementation of an omni-channel strategy. Again this year, HIS showed that hot topics such as digitization, intelligent data usage and omni-channel strategies are increasingly coming to the fore in medium-sized businesses. minubo offers standardized analytics, for example, for the digital marketplace models of trade associations, and supports the process of digitization in order to master the balancing act between online business and brick-and-mortar retailing in the best possible way, and to help unlock untapped potential.
